The best place to train your pet is on a natural surface like grass or dirt. The dog usually wants to relieve itself after a meal, or following play, exercise, excitement, or waking up. It usually starts to run or circle, sniffing the floor. When that happens, immediately take your dog outside. When your dog finishes his business, give praise.
If you don’t have the chance to go outside (for exemple, if you live in an apartment), you can apply the same principles. All you have to do is choose an area where is acceptable for your dog to relieve itself. When you thing that your dog wants to go ,lead it to designated area. After, give it a reward.
The dog can urinate as a sign of submission. It’s natural. If that happens, ignore it and walk away to the area that you choose. Encourage it to follow you and relieve itself.
